Current Position:

Dean and Professor
Winston Salem State University
601 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive

For the past three years, I have had the pleasure to serve on the Board of Directors for the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions (ASAHP). In my role, I was fortunate to be part of the ASAHP strategic planning process and championed the alliances and partnerships component of the plan. This is a great blueprint that will guide the organization to a higher level for years to come. It has been a pleasure to serve as Board liaison to the Clinical Education Task Force that has conducted research, presented papers and published articles on issues that confront all of our educational programs. It was a high honor to be appointed by the Secretary of Health to serve on the Health Resource Service Administration, Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary Community-based Linkages. I was voted by peers as vice-chair of that committee and will assume the role as chair for the upcoming year. For the past 9 years, I have served as Dean and Professor of the School of Health Sciences at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), with educational programs in Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Care Management, Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. My clinical experiences include registered nurse and physician assistant. I was honored as educator of the year by the American Academy of Physician Assistants and was elected ASAHP Fellow. My areas of research include HIV/AIDS and other health disparities. International experiences include funding to address HIV/AIDS issues in Zimbabwe and Malawi. I currently serve as president and general chair of the Consortium on International Management Policy and Development.
